It looks like Yarmouth may finally have a permanent dog park.
The Town of Yarmouth has identified an area between the Mariners ballfield and the Broadbrook Trail as a suitable location.
Martha Cassidy, the president of the Yarmouth Dog Park Association tells CJLS News the location appears like a good choice.
“I think we’ll be more accessible to more people. We’re cautiously optimistic that, before Christmas, we’ll be able to take our dogs off leash in to a secure area.”
Town council has committed $15,000 for fencing.
Cassidy says she’s very pleased with what the town has done and remains cautiously optimistic.
“My understanding is that they are hoping that those quotes will be assembled and decided on and they will begin to install the fencing next month.”
She says the association will be able to use the approximately $15,000 that they have raised through donations for any additional features they would like to have at the dog park
