Sandy Dennis has been named Parade Marshal for the event in downtown Yarmouth on Saturday, November 25th.
In a release on Facebook, Parade Director Barb Firth says Dennis fights everyday for the citizens of Yarmouth, working on numerous projects all with a positive attitude.
Dennis says she’s truly humbled.
“It really means a lot to me. I know there’s more people out there probably more worthy of it than I am but I was really grateful to be asked. I feel really humbled by it.”
Dennis has joined the Western Nova Scotia Cancer Support Network in advocating for a radiation unit at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
She says they are hoping for a positive outcome.
The Christmas Parade of Lights will begin at 6pm on Argyle Street.
The theme is ‘150 Years of Canadian Christmases.’
