The Office of the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal has released the cause of a tragic fire in Yarmouth County last month.
In an email, Krista Higdon of the Department of Municipal Affairs, says the investigation into the fire in Pubnico Head on January 7 is complete.
The fire, that claimed the lives of four children and injured two other people, is classified as accidental.
The source was determined to be a wood stove.
Fire investigators said the area of origin was around the chimney.
Higdon says the decision to release the cause follows discussions with the province’s information access and privacy administrators.
