The province has released more details about financial assistance for those who suffered uninsurable losses in Hurricane Dorian’s wake.
Dorian cut a path through Nova Scotia on September 7th, with the Yarmouth area particularly hard hit.
The Disaster Assistance program is being offered to residents, small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Before you start the online application, you should have all your information handy including insurance details, photos of the damage, and an itemized description of the damage and replacement cost estimates.
Financial assistance provides up to $200,000 for repair and replacement costs.
Food is not covered by this program.
The application deadline is March 31st.
Minister responsible for emergency management Chuck Porter says storm damages are estimated to be around $11 million.
