Our community is heart-broken.
A young girl died in a tragic incident during Yarmouth’s Santa Claus Parade Saturday night.
RCMP confirmed they were called shortly before 7 to Starrs Road, where a 4-year old girl had fallen under a passing float in the parade.
She was taken to Yarmouth Regional Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Hundreds of people had lined the parade route and many, including children, witnessed the horrific accident.
There will be a candlelight vigil this evening at 7 at Frost Park in her memory.
It’s organized by Chellesey Lusk and will include songs and prayers.
Donations will be accepted for the family of the young girl.
Please, reach out to each other, don’t be afraid to talk to a friend or professional if you need to talk about this.
