The creatures of the night welcome everyone in the family to participate by joining us for creature & lantern workshops leading up to All Hallows Day where we will celebrate the night in glowing, whimsy and obscure costumes, together we will light up the streets of Bear River with monstrosity & delight
We encourage you to create your own puppet costume, or glow up your Halloween costume with lights and join us as we parade the dark village streets with glowing creatures
We will be hosting a series of workshops so community members can come together and craft their own creatures every Sunday in October at Oakdene Community Centre from 1-4pm
If you need inspiration or motivation to make a costume, this series of workshops leading up to the parade will offer a creative, safe, and collaborative space to discuss and create creature costumes and lanterns in preparation for the parade on November 1st
Each weekly session will include a workshop led by a local artist. Lantern sessions will also include a kid-friendly activity. Project participation is not required, all are welcome to show up, hang out and work on your own creature
Workshop participation is optional for parade participation, self-led creations are welcome
The parading will showcase the talents of local artists as well as live music, light shows and will be followed by a garden of lights in the Bear River Waterfront Park
