Yarmouth town council have identified a list of strategic priorities.
They include a new arts and culture facility, a waterfront development strategy, airport passenger service, regional collaboration and a solar project bid.
The items were identified after some working sessions earlier this week.
Mayor Pam Mood says they will try to accomplish all of this as soon as possible.
“I think they are all equal. We can do three or four things at once. They do cost money, but we are trying to do the best we can for the citizens.”
Mood says council also put forward issues not in their mandate, but in an advocacy role.
“We don’t own healthcare, housing or community services. However, we have definitely said we need to advocate in certain areas including medical clinics, wait-times and housing. That is on-going work.”
In the long-term, council will look at waterfront governance, a long-term capital plan and five year strategy, a WREN strategic review and regional viability study.
