Yarmouth town council will soon discuss the priorities it will set for the next four years.
After a nearly two-day planning session at the Rodd Grand Hotel, council and staff came up with five projects they
think should be front and centre.
Mayor Pam Mood says the issues must first be discussed at the committee of the whole then ratified by the council.
She says while she can’t discuss the five priorities publicly, she says the council discussed other matters that are important to
the community.
“I’ll use an example, medical services, hospital waits, a walk-in clinic. those aren’t within our mandate. There’s a special section where we put in advocacy pieces where we know we can’t take ownership of it but we certainly have a lot of work to do with our federal and provincial counterparts.”
Mood says as priority projects come to fruition then others move up the list.
