The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners got back on track with a three point weekend.
On Friday night, the Mariners blew out the Lumberjacks 7-1 in Bridgewater.
Aaron Maillet led the way offensively with a goal and two assists, Connor Peveril and Noah McMullin each had a goal and assist.
Max Robitaille, Andrew Martell, Ezekiel Estrada and Chris Goreham also scored, and Justin Ritcey was named first star in net, making 37 saves.
The Lumberjacks made it 2-1 early in the second period, but that’s as close as they would get as the Mariners scored the next five.
Saturday was a much closer game, this time against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers at Mariners Centre.
Yarmouth would give up a 4-2 lead on their way to a 6-5 overtime loss.
The Crushers scored three goals in just over seven minutes of the third period to take a 5-4 lead, but a late Mariner goal tied the game.
Michael Dill scored the winner for Pictou 47 seconds into OT.
Max Robitaille and Matt Barron each had a goal and an assist for Yarmouth, Connor Peveril, Noah McMullin and Andrew Martell also scored.
Leif Hertz allowed six goals on 25 shots.
The Mariners sit in third place in the Eastlink South Division, one point behind Truro for second and five points behind Pictou for first.
Yarmouth will be at home twice this weekend, Saturday against Campbellton and Sunday, 5pm vs. South Shore.
