It was another winning weekend for the Wades Wire Traps Five Star Roofing Bantam AA Mariners playing a game at home and a game on the road against the South Shore Sharks.
Game 1, Saturday Jan 22 in Yarmouth the final was 6-4 for Yarmouth.
Donovan Mullen and Yannick Cottreau scored 2 goals each. Gavin O’Connell and Hayden Young each had 1.
Assists went to Josh Greene and Brennan Smith with 2; Denver d’Entremont, Gavin O’Connell, Zach d’Arcy, Teagan Scott and Jay Deviller each had 1.
Charlie Banks was in nets facing 32 shots.
Player of the game went to Yannick Cottreau.
Game 2, Jan 23 was played in Bridgewater. Final 3-0 for Yarmouth.
Josh Greene, Zach d’Arcy and Donovan Mullen scored 1 goal each.
Assists went to Brennan Smith, Donovan Mullen, Josh Greene and Ryan Warner.
Liam Campbell was in nets facing 24 shots.
Player of the game went to Zach d’Arcy.

The Yarmouth Scotiabank Western Riptide West Female Peewee A girls dropped a pair of games this weekend.
They were shut out 6-0 to Western Riptide East in Lunenburg on Saturday.
Yesterday they lost 2-1 to Metro West Force Red.
The lone goal was scored by Ava Mullen, Carly Kini had the assist.

The Captains Choice Trucking Bantam B Mariners lost to Acadia 5-1 in an exhibition game at the Kentville arena yesterday.
Scoring for Yarmouth was Connor Boudreau, unassisted.

Six members of the Yarmouth Y Whitecaps attended the first long course swim meet of the season on the weekend.
Marybeth Brown took 7th in the 50 freestyle, 4th in the 100 Butterfly and 6th in the 200 IM.
Jadyn Hood Bent took 7th in the 50 breast stroke.
The meet was held at Centennial pool in Halifax .

The Spears and MacLeod Pharmasave PeeWee AA Mariners played 3 games in the Valley this weekend, coming home with a win and 2 ties.
Saturdays game against Acadia was a 3-3 tie.
The Mariners had 2 goals from Spencer Surette and 1 goal from Cameron Kerr.
Yesterday, the PeeWee AA Mariners played Western Valley.
The first game was a 4-1 win for the Mariners, with goals from Spencer Surette, Cameron Kerr, Orren Hatfield and Jesse Amiro.
The second game ended in a 4-4 tie. Goals for the Mariners were from Connor Prouty, Orren Hatfield, Luke MacLeay and Spencer Surette.

In Track and Field Southwest Nova Athletics had a strong performance Saturday at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax.
Hudson Grimshaw-Surette bumped up to run university finishing 2nd overall with a 6 sec PB in the 1000m giving him his 10th Provincial record.
Finishing in their age category were Jace Doucette (1st in 60m & 200m) with PB in both
Isaac Cull (1st in 1500m) with 4 sec PB
Ryan Shay (3rd in 60m & 2nd in 600m para)
Dennie D’Entremont (2nd in high jump)
