The community of Clare is mourning the loss of an avid golfer.
Ronnie Aymar passed away last week at the age of 61.
Aymar was the former General Manager of the Clare Golf and Country Club, and won numerous tournaments during his years at the course.
Roland Deveau, President of Golf Canada and former Past-President of the Clare Golf and Country Club says Aymar was an integral part of the community.
“You don’t see people like Ronnie very often. He was the GM but he would always greet you when you were coming into the parking lot, the pro shop or the clubhouse. He was always very pleasant, and always asked about you and your family.”
Deveau says Aymar was always happy for individual accomplishments of golfers at the course.
“He encouraged competitive and recreational golfers. To have someone like Ron at the course, they are few and far between. But when you have them, you know the club is in good shape.”
Aymar is survived by his wife, son, two daughters and two grandchildren.
