They have done so in memory of five year old Carmen Faith Huskilson, who passed away one year ago from medical complications.

Her memory inspired a call for residents to be kind to each other and to ‘pay it forward.’
That sparked acts of random kindness throughout Shelburne County and beyond.
Mayor Karen Mattatall hopes that will continue, especially today.
“We’re asking people to do a random act of kindness today for someone in memory of Carmen. Pay it forward began in memory of her, and the town thought it would be appropriate to designate January 12th each year as Pay It Forward Day.”
Mattatall says the sadness has turned into a reminder for people to do things for those in need.
Carmen’s parents donated over $95,000 from a fund in Carmen’s name to the Shelburne Medical Clinic.
Her mother Jennie Huskilson says this means a lot to her family, and the love and support of the community will help them continue to get through this difficult time.
