An official with the Nova Scotia Health Authority says it could be another 3 to 4 months before things are back to normal.
They are asking for people to understand that the 5 floors and the basement in building B sustained considerable damage when a frozen pipe burst.
Fraser Mooney says there are still issues getting people to where they need to be.
“There’s still a challenge helping patients and the public understand that while the the construction and repair work goes on at the hospital, they might not be able to get to their appointments the same way as they always did. For instance people arriving in the front main lobby can’t get to the Diagnostic Imaging Department as easily as they could before.
He says they’re asking people to phone ahead.
“Ask is there are any alternate routes that they need to take and remember that it might take a little bit longer to get to your appointment if the route has changed and please allow a little bit extra time.”
Mooney says offices for adult outpatient and mental health and psychiatry appointments have been moved to the Arcadia school
building.
A number of the private physicians offices that were located on the third and fourth floors of building B at the hospital have been
relocated to other parts of the facility.
Dr. Ntambazi, Dr. Chahal and Dr. Cheevers have moved to the Pier 1 building at 101 Water St.
