It’s a go for Tuesday.
Lobster fishermen in southwestern Nova Scotia have been given the green light to set their gear tomorrow morning.
The start of the lobster fishery, Dumping Day, falls on the last Monday in November, today, but was delayed over concerns with the weather.
Dwayne Surette of DFO in Yarmouth says calls were held this morning at 8am with Environment Canada, DFO and port reps from LFA 34.
“There was no forecasted weather to trip the protocol and an automatic closure. The industry voted and we will be opening tomorrow morning.
Fishermen from LFA 33 can set their pots tomorrow as well with a start time of 7am.
