With lobster season in full swing, many fishermen are bound to find a ‘crazy looking’ lobster in their hauls.
Yarmouth car dealership Murray GM recently held an online contest to find the craziest looking lobster.
A rainbow coloured lobster got the most votes on Facebook with over 1,600.
Chad Graham of Brier Island was the original winner, however the crew of Yarmouth vessel Sudden Impact were the ones that actually caught the lobster.
The dealership awarded the $500 prize to both parties, with Graham donating his winnings to the Yarmouth Food Bank, and the crew of Sudden Impact donating theirs to the Yarmouth SPCA.
Murray GM Owner Jeff Little says the contest reached nearly a million people.
“A lot of people have had fun. It’s drawn attention to our lobster industry right across Canada and around the world. I think we definitely want to do it again next year.”
There were over 200 entries in the first ever ‘Craziest Lobster Contest.’
