Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has confirmed that a Canadian was among those who died in an attack at a nightclub in Turkey that killed 39 people.
In a statement, Trudeau says Canada mourns with the people of Turkey and with all countries who lost citizens in “this vicious attack”.
Trudeau offered condolences to the friends and families of all of the victims of the attack and hopes, and prays that those injured will have a rapid and complete recovery.
He confirmed Canada remains steadfast in its determination to work with allies and partners to fight terrorism and hold perpetrators accountable.
The terrorist group ISIS has taken responsibility for the deadly attack at a nightclub in Istanbul on New Year’s Eve.
Turkish atthorities are still looking for the shooter involved in the attack.
