A 49 year old man aboard a fishing vessel was suffering from a heart attack and required immediate medical attention.
Sub Lt. Sean Ritchie, Public Affairs Officer with Joint Task Force Atlantic says they tasked a Cormorant helicopter to the area 25 nautical miles southwest of Yarmouth.
“We were able to get our search and rescue technicians on board to provide initial medical assistance while the fishing vessel was steaming ashore. We were able to move the individual to ambulance on shore to seek further medical attention.”
The search and rescue technicians were then recovered by the Cormorant.
There is no word on the man’s condition or the name of the vessel he was on.
A Coast Guard vessel also assisted.
