Get ready to run off that Christmas dinner.
On Monday, the eighth annual Boxing Day Turkey Run takes place in Yarmouth.
The 5k run starts at 10am and ends at the Tim Hortons Train Station location on Water Street.
Organizer Bobby-Lou Reardon says the event is timed but it’s not a competition.
“It’s pretty casual. There are a few that go out and run their hardest, but mostly the event is about getting together. If you can hear the hum of people and conversations in Tim Hortons before it starts, it’s pretty wild.”
Reardon says they see a lot of families come out to the run.
She says out of all the runs she organizes, this one is the largest.
Registration can be done at Runner’s Attic.
