The Salvation Army in Yarmouth is falling a bit short on its goal for its Christmas Kettle Campaign.
The organization had set a goal of $50,000.
Captain Mike Mailman says despite the shortcoming, he’s is very grateful to those who have dropped money
into the kettles.
“Every year, it’s the same story. Everyone is always very supportive and very positive. We are very thankful for the donations of time, funds and goods. It’s always overwhelming and wonderful this time of year.”
He says last week’s bad weather affected donations.
Mailman says the letter campaign is doing much better with donations close to the goal of $50,000.
“The need isn’t just at Christmas time. It’s a reality that people face year round. When you support us. the money starts here at Christmas, but will help people all year including next Christmas as well.”
