Yesterday was what many gamers call Mario Day, it happens every year on March 10th, when the abbreviated date spells out the word Mario. On that day I like to look back at the huge accomplishments of gaming over the years.
Donkey Kong was the first game that featured Mario and was released in 1981. Since then we have gone a long way from a few pixels on a screen. From dodging barrels in a platformer (that I admittedly was never good at) to racing through the city and exploring worlds in a 3D space, so much has changed over the past 45 years!
The first game I ever played was Mario Kart on the GameCube, Then there was Super Smash Bros, Luigi’s Mansion and so on. The Mario universe as a whole has expanded big time over the years, providing you with solo entertainment when you were a kid to fun for the whole family now with some of their many major titles.
