Today is the Ford Mustang’s 62nd Birthday, today marks the Manufactured Date of the Mustang in 1964.
The Ford Mustang, often referred to by enthusiasts as the “1964½” model, began official production on March 9, 1964, at the Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant. While these early models were technically titled as 1965 models by Ford, they were manufactured between early March and July 31, 1964.

As a teenager who loved fast cars I never did have the pleasure of owning a Mustang, drove one a few times and never forgot that feeling .
I always thought of the Mustang as a Status Symbol , you had money if you owned a mustang or your parents did !

According to hemmings.com : The first Mustang rolled off the assembly line March 9, 1964, and it made its national debut on April 17. With a list price of $2,368, by the weekend, 22,000 cars were ordered and some 303,408 were built that first year. Through 1966, Ford sold more than 1.4 million of them.
