Hart : Good morning !
Let’s catch up on some classic rock groups and what they’ve been up to .
Eagles — Don Henley says the group is likely to call it quits this year. In an interview, the drummer, singer and songwriter said: “I think this year will probably be it. I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end, and that will be fine too.”
Led Zeppelin — High-quality behind-the-scenes film of the group on tour in 1972 as surfaced online. The newsreel footage was shot for a Dutch music TV show. The 4-minute clip shows Zeppelin arriving at the airport in Amsterdam for a show there, and the band’s opening number ‘Immigrant Song’. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ymks9ubx
Ozzy Osbourne — A long-lost Ozzy rehearsal tape has resurfaced after spending more than 4 decades hidden away, offering a rare glimpse into a pivotal moment in his career shortly after his departure from Black Sabbath. Neil Young — has cancelled his upcoming UK tour and all other 2026 tour plans. The 80-year-old posted on his website that this is “not the time” to be playing live shows and he has “decided to take a break”. He apologized to fans, concluding: “I do love playing live and being with you and The Chrome Hearts. Love, Neil. Be well.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/nhj25mdx
Queen — Drummer Roger Taylor has quietly released the new single ‘Chumps’, and it seems to be a barbed commentary aimed at the current resident of The White House. It finds him singing despairingly about “a man of no morality, of no more quality” over gentle washes of synthesizer, and rhyming “treachery” with “lechery” and “pomposity” with “atrocities.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/5b9aecfx
Twisted Sister — has been forced to cancel their 50th anniversary reunion dates after frontman Dee Snider resigned due to “a series of health challenges”. Guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda said in a statement the band’s future “will be determined in the next several weeks.” Snider said he suffers from degenerative arthritis and unspecified heart issues.
Def Leppard — launched their Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this month ( Feb, 2026), treating the crowd to some live debuts and songs they haven’t played in a while. Among them: the first-ever live performance of their new single ‘Rejoice’, their 2024 single ‘Just Like 73’, and covers of Depeche Mode’s ‘Personal Jesus’, a song they recorded in 2018, and David Essex‘s ‘Rock On’.
Van Halen – Their “5150” album will receive a deluxe reissue in time for its 40th anniversary, with rarities and previously unreleased live recordings included in the package. The “5150 (Expanded Edition)” set will be released March 27. A live version of ‘Summer Nights’ from Van Halen’s Aug. 27, 1986 concert in New Haven CT is out now. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/52uun6jt
Kiss – The video for their classic tune ‘I Was Made for Lovin’ You’ has reached over 1 billion views on YouTube. The band announced the milestone on social media, writing: “The numbers speak for themselves. This one still dominates. IWMFLY baby!!” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/2eh44j5w
Robert Plant, Neil Young and John Lennon – Exclusive releases from each are among the top classic rock offerings for 2026’s Record Store Day, April 18. Plant has created a new EP especially for the occasion: “Saving Grace: All that Glitters”. It’s a continuation of his recent “Saving Grace album”, featuring 4 new songs from his collaboration with Suzi Dian. There will be 3,500 limited-edition copies.
Toto — Rosanna Arquette told People mag that their 1982 hit ‘Rosanna’ isn’t necessarily about her. She explained the song was written by Toto’s David Paich when she was dating keyboardist Steve Porcaro. And though Arquette says the song isn’t a tribute to her, she thinks Paich definitely borrowed her name for the title. BTW, she also said Peter Gabriel’s 1989 hit ‘In Your Eyes’ “was about me”.
Three Dog Night — Chuck Negron, a founding member and frontman for the band, has died at 83. He had been battling COPD and was suffering from heart failure in recent months. Negron’s voice is best known for his performance of ‘Joy to the World (Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog)’ and ‘One (Is the Loneliest Number)’.
3 Doors Down — Founder, singer, and songwriter Brad Arnold has died at 47. The band shared that he died in his sleep on Saturday Feb 6 , surrounded by wife Jennifer and family, following a battle with cancer. He wrote 3 Doors Down’s breakout hit single, 2000’s ‘Kryptonite’, in high school during math class at age 15.
Shinedown and Creed – are the 4th and 5th artists to pull out of Kid Rock’s MAGA-leaning “Rock the Country” music festival, following Ludacris, Morgan Wade and Carter Faith. Shinedown posted: “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide…we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock the Country Festival.” The scheduled tour stop in Anderson SC, set for July 25-26, has also been canceled.
