When it come to Tea or Coffee.. I am fan of Both!
I have morning Coffee but during the Day and Evening I will have tea. ” Green or Mint is preferred ”
As a kid , my parents and grand parents were big tea drinkers . My Grandmother would have that clear Pyrex tea Pot on the stove with about 10 tea bags in it , if someone came to visit she would just add water and another tea bag to the already bubbling bags in the pot ” Strong Tea” .
In this blog I want to stress more facts about Tea and some of the benefits you may not have known .
According to research from the Tea Advisory Panel, 57% of British tea drinkers said a cup of tea at work helps them connect with colleagues, while 22% added they miss tea breaks in the office when working from home. I’m sure you’re aware that tea is loaded with antioxidants, but this research shows that tea drinking could also aid relaxation and lower stress levels. Co-author of the study Dr. Tim Bond said: “These…findings suggest that tea drinking has wider social ramifications that could impact mental health, which is worthy of future investigation, especially as many of us have suffered huge mental health pressures since the pandemic.” Previous research has found that both black tea and green tea help aid relaxation, reduce stress levels, and reduce heart health decline. But unlike coffee, tea can act as a pick-me-up without affecting sleep.
- L-Theanine: An amino acid in tea that increases alpha brain waves, promoting relaxation, and boosts “feel-good” neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA.
- Antioxidants: Polyphenols and flavonoids, like EGCG in green tea, fight inflammation and cell damage linked to stress.
- Caffeine & L-Theanine Synergy: Tea’s moderate caffeine, balanced by L-theanine, creates a state of “calm alertness,” unlike the jitteriness from coffee.
- Ritual & Warmth: The simple act of preparing and enjoying a warm cup provides a meditative break, slowing you down and offering a sense of well-being.
- Green Tea: Rich in L-theanine and EGCG, supporting mood and focus.
- Black Tea: Contains L-theanine and antioxidants, with less caffeine than coffee.
- Herbal Teas: Chamomile is excellent for relaxation and sleep, while peppermint can ease tension.
