The Municipality of Barrington wants better cell service.
They launched an online petition to the federal government to address what they call ‘serious challenges’ caused by the poor service.
The municipality says they’ve leased land to a service provider in the hopes of new cell towers, and have taken many steps to identify dead zones and coverage gaps.
Still, cell service remains unavailable in many areas.
They’re calling on the feds to take immediate action, saying residents, businesses and visitors are being left behind when it comes to rural connectivity.
The survey opened Wednesday and already has hundreds of signatures.
There’s also a paper version, available at many businesses.
