Some of the best players in the MHL are heading to New Glasgow.
They’ll take on a team from Quebec at the East Coast Prospects Showcase tonight.
The game will help identify players to represent Canada at next month’s World Junior A Challenge.
Yarmouth Mariners rookie forward Owen O’Donnell is taking part, Head Coach Laurie Barron will be behind the bench.
O’Donnell says he’s looking forward to it.
“I’m fortunate enough to be chosen to play in front of the people in Pictou County and meeting some new people along the way. Also catching up with guys that I’ve played with before, I’m looking forward to the opportunity,” said O’Donnell.
The 17-year-old has two goals and five assists in 17 games in his rookie season.
“I love playing in Yarmouth, it’s such a great atmosphere. There’s nothing better than having a Junior team in a community with so much passion and support.”
