A major infrastructure project is underway on Water Street to support a new housing development ahead of next summer.
Work will be carried out over the coming weeks with the installation of a new sewer system, a storm sewer and catch basins with asphalt upgrades and landscaping.
The work was approved by council on October 14 with the contract awarded to Aberdeen Paving for more than $882,402.40, following a competitive tender process.
The upgrades will occur on Water Street between Gardner Street and Richards Lane.
The upgrades will support Mirza’s new housing development of 27 units with estimated completion in the summer of 2026, and a phase 2 project to be completed in 2027.
