A woman is dead after she was shot by an RCMP officer on Cedar Lane in Eastern Passage.
In a news release, Wednesday, the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) says according to the investigation so far, RCMP were called to a home due to a physical assault, Tuesday afternoon.
They found a woman with a knife.
She did not comply with police orders to drop the knife.
Police used a Taser, however the woman continued to approach police with the knife.
An officer shot their gun, hitting the woman and she was pronounced dead shortly after.
According to a release from police, Tuesday, no one else was injured.
