More Canadians visited national parks and museums this summer compared to last year.
The government implemented the Canada Strong Pass from June through Sept. 2nd.
It offered discounts to visit national parks and museums.
Early results show about 15 per cent more people visited national museums, and visits to parks increased by about 10 per cent, according to a news release.
“The success of the Canada Strong Pass shows just how much Canadians value our cultural, historical and natural treasures,” wrote Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture, in the release.
The federal government will compile the final results related to the Canada Strong Pass in the coming weeks.
