The Mayor of Yarmouth wants you to be mindful of water usage.
No official conservation orders have been given by the town.
But as conditions remain dry with no end in sight, Mayor Pam Mood is asking citizens to be proactive.
“Anything that you can think of to conserve water, just a bit from each household would make a huge difference,” said the Mayor.
The town’s water reserve is the Lake George watershed.
Mood says they always keep a close eye, but even that can run low if dry weather continues.
“Lake George can’t re-charge without rain. And we look at the forecast ahead, we are always looking at water conservation strategies to make sure the supply is there. It’s not just for our hooked-up customers, it’s for everyone to do the best they can.”
