Aerosmith — Joe Perry said the group would love to do a final show, provided Steven Tyler is well enough. They postponed, then canceled their “Peace Out” farewell tour after just 3 shows due to Tyler’s vocal injury. Queen — With the 40th anniversary of Live Aid coming up, they are giving fans a chance to relive their iconic performance. Green Day – For years, the group has been inviting a fan onstage to strum the evening’s final song, ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’. Just recently in Luxembourg, the person welcomed to the stage began playing the iconic chords of Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’. Foo Fighters — have dropped a cover of ‘I Don’t Wanna Hear It’ by hardcore band Minor Threat. The Foos recorded their take on the 80-second 1981 song over 30 years, with the instruments being tracked in 1995, and vocals done earlier this year. Lynyrd Skynyrd – has released “Celebrating 50 Years – Live at The Ryman”, capturing the band’s final show with last original founding member Gary Rossington before his passing in 2023 at 71. The performance features guests Jelly Roll, Brent Smith (Shinedown), John Osborne (Brothers Osborne), Marcus King, Donnie Van Zant (38 Special), and more.
Foo Fighters – following the release of their cover of Minor Threat’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Hear it’, they’ve dropped their first new original song since 2023. ‘Today’s Song’ marks the band’s 30th anniversary, and addresses some of the group’s changes over the past few years. Supertramp – Their classic 1970s albums “Crime of the Century” and “Crisis? What Crisis?” will get 50th anniversary vinyl reissues on August 29. The band and co-producer Ken Scott have overseen the new reissues, which have been remastered at half-speed, and are available for preorder now.
Dolly Parton and Sheryl Crow – will both be on hand for the upcoming Stand Up 2 Cancer telecast, broadcasting from Nashville on Aug. 15. Crow will host the 9th biennial event, and Parton will appear in the special. Additional performers and participants will be announced in the coming weeks.
Oasis — reunited for their first performance in 16 years on Friday July 11th. Noel and Liam Gallagher, known for their legendary spats, kicked off their “Oasis Live ’25 Tour” in front of over 74,000 fans in Cardiff, Wales. The brothers entered the stage hand in hand, with their other hands raised in triumph. Reports are that Liam Gallagher’s vocals were as potent as ever.
Black Sabbath — The group’s original lineup brought Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show in Birmingham, England to a rousing conclusion with a 4-song set Saturday July 5th. Prior to that, Osbourne delivered a brief solo set from a throne decorated with bats. Guns N’ Roses, Steven Tyler, Pantera, Tool, Sammy Hagar and Alice in Chains are among the acts who performed earlier in the day.
Ozzy Osbourne – His daughter Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson of Slipknot got engaged backstage at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert on Saturday July 5th. After years of dating and recently welcoming their first child together, Wilson popped the question just before Ozzy took the stage for his final performance with Black Sabbath
Foreigner – has released ‘Fool if You Love Him’, one of 5 previously unreleased songs that will appear on the deluxe version of their 1981 multi-Platinum album “4”, out Sept. 12. It was initially recorded and left unfinished during the album’s recording sessions in New York. Original frontman Lou Gramm returned decades later to add a new verse, and record new vocals. Aldo Nova – The Canadian ‘Fantasy’ singer’s wife posted on his social media: “Due to an unfortunate fall down a flight of stairs, Aldo has suffered a cervical spine fracture at the level of C1, which is a serious injury.” She indicated he does not need spinal surgery, but has to wear a special neck brace for up to a year. The Beatles — Ringo Starr is now happy with the way his biopic is progressing after spending 2 days with director Sam Mendes dealing with script issues. His story will be released in 2028, alongside films focusing on his bandmates. Starr had concerns when he read scenes that feature his first wife, Maureen Starkey Tigrett. He still wonders how Mendes will meet the deadlines attached to the 4-movie project.
Pearl Jam — Drummer Matt Cameron has left the group. Men Without Hats – The ‘80s new wavers have dropped a new nostalgia-fueled synth-pop banger that “celebrates the decade that made them legends,” the band said. ‘I Love the ’80s’ offers “a hairsprayed wink and a shoulder-padded strut” from the singers of the iconic ’80s hit ‘The Safety Dance’.
