It’s National Video Game Day today!
I grew up when things were transitioning from “be home when the lights turn on” to “you can play for an hour when you finish your homework!” I fondly remember playing ball hockey in the streets out front of my neighbors house, and yet also playing Video games until the sun went down!
The first game I remember playing avidly that got me hooked on gaming as a whole was the Metroid Prime Series on the Nintendo Gamecube… from there things just sorta spiraled. When I was 12 my mom bought us an Xbox 360 and I saw things move from the old LAN style parties and split screen games to online gaming.
Then came Halo 3, my first entry into the Halo Series and a time in my life I still reminisce about today. When Halo 4 came out I waited outside of my local EB Games for the clock to strike midnight as they gave me my copy. Those Were the days! Since then I’ve owned every title they’ve released, and that’s certainly a streak I plan to keep!
