The quick strikes came in the third period on goals from Andrew Martell and Jordan Messenger.
Mike Snow scored perhaps the goal of the season when he deked the Crushers defense and backhanded it top shelf on goaltender Daniel Vautour.
Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron gave his team credit for the win.
“I’m extremely proud of the players and how they showed up. We hit a bit of a wall near the end of the second period, but I thought we came out in the third and played lights out.”
Brendan Cregan got the win in goal, making 34 saves.
Barron explains why he chose Cregan to start over number one goalie Leif Hertz.
“Just playing a hunch. Cregan had seen Amherst three times, so I thought we’d switch things up. He came off a big win against Valley last Sunday. I just played a hunch tonight, most times they don’t work but tonight it did.”
Yarmouth were missing forward Matt Barron due to injury and forward Brodie Butt due to suspension.
The Mariners head to Amherst tomorrow night.
