Lenny Kravitz — is giving fans a peak inside his Parisian home. He gave Architectural Digest a video tour of his mansion, named Hotel de Roxie after his mother, Roxie Roker. The tour shows the home’s grand entrance, complete with a custom Steinway grand piano, the petit salon and grand salon, bedrooms, library, dining room – and his home studio. Alice Cooper and Judas Priest – have announced a fall co-headlining US tour. The first of 22 dates is set for Sept. 16 in Biloxi MS. The road run also features special guests Corrosion of Conformity. There will also be one Canadian stop, on Sept. 29 in Toronto. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4esk7wd8
ZZ Top – has announced the 51-date North American Elevation” tour, set to begin June 1 in Victoria BC. It is currently scheduled to wind up Oct. 10 in Terre Haute IN. The Texas trio were the busiest classic rock band on the road last year, beating road warriors such as Judas Priest, Styx and Journey with 99 shows.
Metallica – gave $40,000 to Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank, following 2 sold-out shows at Rogers Centre in April . The donation was made on behalf of Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation. In 2016, the group gave all ticket proceeds from their surprise Opera House show to the Food Bank.
Oasis – Noel and Liam Gallagher have officially performed together for the time in 16 years. In preparation for their reunion tour this summer, the brothers secretly took to the stage at a London working men’s club, and their set was filmed for a promotional video. The Sun reports that locals in Stoke Newington complained about the noise.
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Anthony Kiedis says the band is planning to release a collection of 40 years’ worth of B-sides, outtakes and rarities. In an interview, he revealed he’s particularly fond of a “Californication” outtake called ‘Gong Li’. Kiedis quote: “Ooh, you feel that all up in your bowels, I swear to god.”
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo — will be headlining the Roundup MusicFest Prince’s Island Park on July 9 during the Calgary Stampede. Other musical guests for the 25th anniversary edition of the festival include Tom Cochrane, J.D. Fortune, and JJ Wilde.
Oasis and Blur — A new comedy stage show will explore the legendary rivalry between the 2 Britpop bands. “The Battle” will debut next Feb. at Birmingham Rep Theatre. It delves into the 1995 situation when both bands released new singles on the same day, vying for the top spot in the charts. That resulted in group members trading insults for years.
Sammy Hagar – told Rolling Stone he’s resigned to the fact that he and former bandmate Alex Van Halen will remain estranged. Quote: “Al, you’re fine. Just leave me alone. I’ll leave you alone.” But the Red Rocker couldn’t resist another dig at the drummer, also saying: “I’m making you money, by the way, Al. I’m out there selling Van Halen records and keeping the name alive, keeping the music alive.”
