Tax rates are going up in Clare.
The municipality is raising tax rates for the first time in 10 years.
The residential rate is going up 6 cents to $1.10 per $100 of assessment, the commercials rate will go up six cents for the first time since 2010.
Clare warden Yvon LeBlanc says they’re getting two new RCMP officers in Meteghan after numerous requests from the public.
He says it was not a decision taken lightly, as many municipalities are seeing inflation effects.
The Clare Health Centre expansion and the Clare Veterans Centre will also be completed this year, the operating budget is balanced at over $14 million.
