It’s Municipal Awareness Week.
A new series of videos from the Municipality of Argyle have been released as part of the initiative.
Argyle Deputy Clerk Chris Frotten visits Ecole Belleville and talks to some Grade 1 and 2 students.
In the videos, he asks the students to identify people in photos, such as Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood, Argyle Warden Richard Donaldson, and even U.S. President Donald Trump.
He also helps them to understand how a municipal budget works.
Frotten says it’s a fun look at municipal politics in general.
“The videos that we came out with we found were very entertaining, but also very educational in terms of what municipalities do in people’s daily lives and the decisions they have to make.”
He says municipalities have a lot of work to do to promote what they do, and he encourages citizens to become more involved by attending council meetings and volunteering for citizen committees.
