Barrington could be without a pool this summer.
Structural damage has appeared along with water loss, and more information is needed before next steps can be taken.
Warden Shaun Hatfield says council remains optimistic it can be fixed for this season.
“We know how valuable the pool is to our residents and citizens. We have taken steps to dig deeper into what the issues are at the pool, so that remedial action can be taken and that we can salvage a pool season for this summer,” said Warden Hatfield.
He says without a fix, they won’t be insured to use it.
Hatfield adds that safety is the number one priority.
“We know the value, but what trumps that is public safety. We don’t want to put any of our children, family members, seniors and citizens in any jeopardy.”
A deeper assessment should be completed by the end of March.
