A number of local seafood companies just got funding from the province.
It will help them reduce their carbon footprint and protect the environment.
This includes over $86,000 for R. Baker Fisheries to install advanced refrigeration units and $30,000 for L. Walker Seafoods to get an energy efficient condenser.
There’s also $50,000 for Yarmouth Bar Fisheries for a net zero seafood processing and live holding facility.
Another round of applications for seafood companies is open until April 11.
