It’s time to ‘Feed the Need’ in Yarmouth.
The fifth annual program sees community members donate food toward Christmas meals for families in need.
Organizer Steve Berry says they’ve helped over 800 households.
“Whether you donate money or your time, or both, the whole community supports the program. Just happy to be doing it again for the fifth year, the community always steps up,” said Berry, who is also the Deputy Mayor of the Town of Yarmouth.
Deliveries will happen on December 15.
There are three ways to give: by e-transfer, stopping in to 34 Barnard Street or Yarmouth Freshmart.
“We have our deliverers come, often the organization that nominates names will deliver the meals themselves. Every meal is delivered right to their door.”
Participants have two meal options to choose from involving turkey or ham, plus all the fixings.
