The Nova Scotia government is partnering with the Discovery Centre to connect with junior high school classes in 17 schools.
Zach Churchill, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development says it’s about linking the in-class experience to the job market.
“We want our kids to be employed, we want to them be innovators and creators in the fields of science and technology, engineering, arts, and math”
Churchill says the program targets Grade 7 and 8 students.
“We have been piloting a cross-curriculum approach to teaching kids about the STEAM fields and helping link the in-class experience to an entrepreneurial opportunity.”
He says the province will invest 300-thousand dollars.
The program includes Maple Grove Education Centre.
