Dumping Day today means the start of the fall lobster fishing season in Southwestern Nova Scotia.
The boats left in LFA 34 at 6am, and then LFA 33 took off at 7am.
Last year was a good one for fishermen, getting high prices for their catch.
On our web poll last week, we asked you about confidence in the continued prosperity of the lobster fishery.
72 per cent of respondents said they were confident that trend would continue.
Many flocked to the Cape Forchu Lightstation at 5am to watch the boats pass the lighthouse.
