The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners stopped a mini two-game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win at Valley yesterday.

Clark’s Harbour native Chris Goreham scored the winner on the powerplay.
The Mariners trailed 2-1 at one point in the game, but Mike Snow tied it at the 7:42 mark of the third.
Aaron Maillet got Yarmouth on the board first with a powerplay goal in the opening frame.
Brendan Cregan got the win in goal, making 42 saves, and getting first star of the game.
The Wildcats out-shot the depleted Mariner line-up 44-27.
Key players missing were Matt Barron, Duncan McKie and Jordan Messenger due to injury, and Brodie Butt, who served the first of a five game suspension for abuse of an official.
The Mariners will hope to get some players back when they return home this Friday for a showdown with the division leading Pictou County Weeks Crushers.
