Proposed legislation has sellers of e-cigarettes concerned.
The federal government recently introduced legislation to regulate vaping products in the same way as tobacco products.
In 2015, 115,000 Cdns began smoking cigarettes daily. Our new legislation aims to address this: https://t.co/iOZX8tx9KB #tobaccocontrol

Government would set standards for how they are packaged, sold and promoted.
Pleased to see intro of new tobacco/vaping legislation today to help protect Cdns, especially youth https://t.co/ozrdwaD2yU @janephilpott

Ryan Barnes runs LaHave Vaping Products in Bridgewater and he thinks it’s a mistake to lump vaping products in with Tobacco.
“It’s not a tobacco product. It has nothing to do with tobacco at all. This is one of the most effective methods of getting off of cigarettes.”
Dear .@janephilpott ,Tobacco Flavors are excellent to help smokers switch to Vaping and quit cigarettes, as I did in 2009.

Barnes says government should keep their hands off e-cigarettes.
“It gives them control of something that I don’t believe they should have control of. Of course there have to be regulations but I believe their concern lies more in the monetary value of this and the loss of tax dollars going into cigarettes.”
Barnes says he agrees some regulation – like keeping vaping products away from minors is necessary.
He says e-cigarettes are a great way to stop smoking and worries this legislation could just end up being another government tax grab.
