You won’t have to go far to find the spirit of the season this weekend.
Several communities in the South Shore are kicking off the holiday season with a number of events.
In Mahone Bay, the Father Christmas Festival will feature tree lighting and an art show and sale.
While Lunenburg hosts their Heritage Christmas weekend featuring the lighting of the vessels, Santa Claus parade and breakfast with Santa.
The South Shore Waldorf school is also hosting their 21st annual winter fair.

And Bridgewater will be holding their annual Christmas on the LaHave Parade starting at 6:00pm on Saturday.
