No one was injured after a deer was struck by a vehicle in Yarmouth last night.
There’s nothing that unusual about deer strikes, but this happened right in the downtown on Main Street.
Town RCMP Staff/Sgt Michel Lacroix says the incident happened around 5:20pm.
He says the buck, along with a couple of other deer, appeared to have run up from Water Street.
The deer died immediately and was given to someone who wanted it.
Lacroix says normally the Department of Natural Resources would be called and they would dispose of the carcass but he said it needed to be removed right away.
There was damage done to the vehicle.
