SIRT says RCMP acted properly after using a taser on a Lunenburg county man during his arrest last February.
The Serious Incident Response Team says the 53-year-old man was upset he was refused a lounge license for his restaurant.
Neighbours called police after he protested by playing loud music outside his venue.
After repeated calls Lunenburg RCMP took the speaker as evidence.
The man was uncooperative and made several calls to 9-1-1.
He accused officers of being stormtroopers and stealing his speaker.
At one point he told operators he was a veteran in crisis and needed help.
RCMP tried to take him into custody under the provisions of the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act.
After he resisted, police used a conducted energy weapon to subdue the man who then received medical assistance.
SIRT determined the force used was appropriate and no officers will face charges.
