The theme of this year’s Christmas Parade of Lights in Yarmouth is ‘A Magical Christmas’.
The parade takes place Saturday November 26, beginning at 6pm at the corner of Argyle and Main Streets.
It runs north on Main to Coronation Park and disperses on Herbert Street.
Parade coordinator Barb Firth says she has been getting calls and emails almost everyday from people interested
in putting an entry in the parade.
” I think the first email I got was back in the summer because people are planning what they want to do.”
She says the Christmas Parade draws people from outside Yarmouth as well.
“It really is magical when you hold it in the evening.”
Volunteer firefighters and members of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Yarmouth Fire Department will be collecting letters to Santa and also
will be collecting cold weather items like mittens and hats for those in need.
Firth says there will be no parking ban on Main Street during the parade however traffic may be reduced to one-way on Argyle and
other streets.
They are also asking drivers not to park at the end of herbert Street on that day.
