A very unique event is coming to Yarmouth Thursday.
Yarmouth’s Mandy Rennehan, one of the top entrepreneurs in Canada, has teamed up with Barbie to bring the ‘You Can Be Anything’ Mentorship Program to our area.
Mattel reached out to Rennehan about six months ago, citing her as a role-model for young girls looking to get into the trades industry.
Rennehan is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Canada.
A girl from Nova Scotia will be picked to spend the day Thursday with Rennehan at her studio, RennDuPrat on Main Street..
She will learn about master carpentry, the latest in high-tech machinery, designing and building.
Rennehan says she wanted the event to be in Yarmouth.
“I really would like to see a girl from South West Nova, so when I see that they did pick a young lady from down home I was ecstatic. She has no idea. This is going to be a game changer for her in her life.”
A ‘Pop-Up Party’ celebrating the girls of Yarmouth will take place later in the day at the Yarmouth Mall.
Mattel will also unveil ‘Construction Barbie’ at the event.
