The money comes from Royal Canadian Legion Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command through a trust fund they administer.
Zone 12 Commander Don McCumber presented a cheque for $7,270 to Veteran’s Place today.
It will help purchase two beds.
He says the Port Maitland Legion Branch, which is in the process of closing made a donation to Veteran’s Place this week. That money will be used to repaint the signs at the facility and to purchase a commercial toaster.
“Yarmouth , Wedgeport, West Pubnico , Cape Sable Island, Lockeport, all of those branches within my zone are always there for our veterans to meet their needs.”
