
The Municipality of Shelburne is the latest community to benefit from the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment Community Fund.
The province is investing $75,000 to help the community recruit and retain healthcare workers.
Shelburne Warden Penny Smith says the Municipality is grateful for the financial support from the province and these funds will assist them with their initiatives to highlight the communities’ attributes.
Shelburne MLA Nolan Young who made the announcement on behalf of Minister of Healthcare Professionals Michelle Thompson says this support from the province will help build on their successes to make sure people who live and work in the area get the healthcare they need.
The community plans to use the funding to add virtual and community visits for healthcare professionals that are thinking about practicing in the area. It will also offer digital marketing campaigns and provide community members and local businesses with equity, diversity, and inclusion training.
The $2 Million Provincial fund is part of the recruitment and retention efforts outlined in the provinces plan to improve healthcare.
