Richard Donaldson has been on Argyle municipal council for 25 years.
He will serve his first term as Warden after being voted in by his fellow Councillors at the swearing-in ceremony Saturday night.
Danny Muise was the other nominee, he was later named Deputy Warden, edging out Guy Surette.
Aldric d’Entremont served as Warden for the last 16 years.
Donaldson says he’ll be missed.
“We’ll miss his experience. He definitely had the experience and the confidence of the people and he was well-liked.”
Donaldson says he wants to keep working on priorities.
‘The wastewater project in Wedgeport is a big one. Getting doctors for the Pubnico clinic, we’re lacking there, we’ve got to keep working on that. The old Cotton Mill building is an issue right now we have to deal with.”
Council will have their first meeting tomorrow night.
